Last month I told you about the healing properties of crystals and how they can strengthen our intentions, which can include love, peace, abundance or balance, to name just a few. In an earlier post, I explained how to cleanse your crystals. This month, I will describe the crystal grid—what it is and why you might consider having one in your home and/or office.

Crystals can be truly exquisite. The colors, the layers, the textures all add to their appeal. But they are so much more than beautiful baubles. They are also quite powerful, especially when placed in a pattern, and created with an intention.

In fact, the crystal grid is all about intention. It is a collection of crystals that are chosen for their properties, and then arranged around a center stone that is typically larger than the rest. This is called the master crystal. The grid takes the intention of your crystals a step further, because there is strength in numbers.

Your grid will be defined by the crystals you include, and the pattern you construct, as well as the harmony among the properties, shapes and colors of each crystal. The grid patterns are based on geometry—or in this case— “sacred geometry”—because they are based on the geometry of nature. You can see sacred geometry everywhere! In the pattern of a snail’s shell, a flower and even the human body. It can be seen on the molecular all the way to the celestial level.

As I mentioned earlier, crystal grids amplify the power of the crystals within them. They can be used for a variety of reasons. Create your crystal grid to:

  • Protect or cleanse your living and/or work spaces
  • Manifest healing of yourself or another
  • Promote personal empowerment
  • Achieve your goals
  • Encourage better sleep

Crystal grids can be created on pretty much any surface, but are mostly constructed on printed mats, wood, or sand.

Because creating the grid is a spiritual act, you should also be sure to cleanse your crystals, charge the master crystal, and cleanse the sacred space where the grid will be placed. You can do that by smudging—a ceremony that can be performed by you, or by someone you hire—or by placing bowls of sea salt around your room.

Once you’ve chosen your crystals, prepared them, and decided where to create your grid, be sure to take the master crystal and trace a line from crystal to crystal without breaking the line. If you’d rather, you can use one of your fingers to do the same thing.

There is no wrong or right way to create a crystal grid. It is always best to go with your intuition when choosing the crystals and placing them in the pattern.

Leave yours in place for as long as you feel is necessary. You might want to revisit it every three days to retrace your lines and re-focus your intent.

Have you ever created a crystal grid? Has this blog post inspired you to create one? What crystals did you (or will you) use and what was/is your intention? Please let us know in the comment section below.
